Summer Nights @ the County Fair

I'm excited! Tonight, the moms & sons are venturing out to the Orange County Fair for a few thrills and some bad, unhealthy food. Should be a lot of fun! I plan to take my camera, so I might do a photo doc as a follow-up post...

In the meantime, enjoy these evening shots at various fairs which I gathered from the internet. I picked ones that I thought really captured that whole "fair-at-night vibe" best. You can almost smell the popcorn and funnel cake. Thank goodness, we can't smell the carnies!

"Wheeeeee!" This looks so fun.

Oooh, how pretty!

Around and around she goes...

"Step right up, win a prize!"

These folks are really swingin'!

I totally want these vintage carnival prizes.

"Carnie" (Wilson) holding a chicken?

into neon flash and flicker.

  4. Tikimama, I've missed seeing you 'round these parts. Thanks for coming back!

We had fun at the fair, but didn't have any funnel cake. Instead, we had muffin-sized red velvet cupcakes with loads of frosting! Yummm!

  5. Yeah, that "carnie" is pretty scary, drollgirl!

Wish I could take credit for the photos, but they're courtesy of Google. I took about 4 or 5 of my own last night, then the camera batteries went dead... :(

  6. If I could send you cotton candy, I would, Lenore. It probably wouldn't taste very good once you got it, though!

I wonder how many stamps it would take?

  7. Here I am, finally. Have you missed me?:)

Gosh, would love to be able to go to a fair right now, the fun and escape from reality would be nice. I'm always wanting to escape reality.:) Your way sounds like a great night out. Hope you had tons of fun! What great guys you are, spending the night out with your moms - I am impressed.:)

OK, I am wanting some of those vintage prizes. How cute are those!

I'm going to Indiana on Thursday, will be back home over the weekend and be able to check in more regularly. Have been in Kentucky, got caught in a terrible storm while driving through Louisville. I was praying out loud. :) You know what they say about being in a fox hole.:)

Have a great week! See you at the end of the week.

    xoxo

  8. Of course, I've totally missed you, Six!

I'm glad you made it out the other side of that nasty Kentucky storm! How scary! I hope that you weren't driving alone. And, no, I don't know what they say about being in a fox hole... Please, enlighten me.

While it's always nice to spend time with mom, our fair adventure was a little frustrating. Some of "us" didn't want to ride the rides at all. So that kind of threw things out of whack. And my camera completely died on me before I was able to get any good shots. But we did eat some fun fair food, and we visited the cute farm animals!

I DID also manage to ride the Tilt-A-Whirl with my mom, so all was good.

Have a safe trip to Indiana, and beware of those prayer-inducing storms!
